1. What makes The Snapdragon special?                   Return to Top

It's the old adage - Location! Location! Location!  Combine a 4 1/2 star "owner operated" B&B with a world class destination and you have a recipe for a great vacation.   The Snapdragon is the perfect place to enjoy one of Canada's treasures - Prince Edward Island.

The Snapdragon is within easy driving distance of all the scenery, all the places, all the beaches, all the golf courses and all the other amazing things that PEI is famous for including lobster, PEI mussels and Malpeque Oysters.  Within walking distance, you'll discover Canada's smallest provincial capital city and birthplace of Canada - Charlottetown.   You'll find fine dining, live theatre (over 40th consecutive years for "Anne of Green Gables the Musical"), the yacht club, history, a wonderful waterfront boardwalk with safe neighborhoods and parks to stroll.

The Snapdragon is a labour of love and we think it shows in everything we do.  Just ask our past guests by clicking here.

2. What does a 4 1/2 star rating signify.                    Return to Top

The Snapdragon's has a rating of 4 1/2 stars from Canada Select - a national organization which rates tourist accommodations.  Achieving a 4 1/2 star rating isn't easy and it signifies that you should expect something special.  The maximum rating is 5 stars and the difference between 4 1/2 and 5 star ratings are minimal.  We like to believe that a 4 1/2 star facility is better because you get the best without it being pretentious.  Of course, we might be biased.

3. Can you accommodate groups?                                 Return to Top

One of the best aspects of the design of The Snapdragon is that the decks on the front and the back of the house can be used to connect rooms.  Rooms 2 and 4 share a deck as do rooms 3 and 5.  In fact 3 and 5 can be combined with room 1 to make 3 adjoining rooms with access between floors via a spiral staircase.  With the beautiful big veranda on room 1, it makes a great spot for three couples or a large family to stay.

4. Are you open all year?                                                  Return to Top

Absolutely!

5. When's the best time to visit?                                      Return to Top

Any time is a good time and it really depends on what you are looking for?  Here are the seasons as defined by the Snapdragon:

Lobster  Late May and early June If you are looking to enjoy this marvelous crustacean, this is the time for you.
Golf Late May through to the end of October Play a different championship course every day of the week all within an easy drive of the Snapdragon.
Fun in the Sun June, July and August Lots of great beaches to choose from.  Some as close as 10 minutes away.
Fall Colours Mid-September to the mid-October The trees put on a show that is a perfect backdrop for romantics and those fireplaces are just tremendous after a day exploring.
Christmas December Book the entire facility for a family get together, a reunion with college buddies or with your co-workers.
Winter Carnival January and February Snowmobile, cross country ski, skate, etc. etc. etc. or just stay inside and ignore the weather curled up in front of a fireplace reading a good book.
